What the 10th "Dialogue for Global Innovation" is all about


    The Dialogue for Global Innovation (DFGI) has been accelerating borderless innovation between Europe and Japan since 2010. Over the past 10 years, DFGI has organised industry-academia collaboration symposia at embassies, national research institutes and leading universities to exchange the latest results and business insights from various fields.
    After the 7th symposium in 2019, the event was suspended for two years due to the new coronavirus infection, but resumed in October 2022 as the 8th symposium, and has been held continuously every year since.
    In September last year, the 10th Symposium discussed the topic "Technologies for Human Flourishing". This September, the symposium will continue to be held in Dublin, Ireland, under the theme "Technologies for Human Flourishing - part 2'. Join this symposium and be part of global innovation.

The 10th International Symposium on "Dialogue for Global Innovation"


The 10th Symposium was held at the Austrian Embassy in London in September 2024. The symposium celebrated the 10th anniversary and included the culmination of previous symposia, with the theme "Technologies for Human Flourishing". The symposium consisted of three sessions - Industry Perspective, Technologies Perspective and Human and Social Perspective - and a panel discussion, where a wide variety of reports from industry, universities and research institutions were presented and meaningful discussions were held.

In September 2023, the 9th Symposium was held at the University of Oxford, U.K. Following the 8th Symposium in 2022, the theme "Technology and Humanity - 5th: Advanced AI vs. Well-being, and Quantum Computing" was discussed. of Covid-19. Although there was a three-year blank after the 7th symposium in 2019 due to the Covid-19, we were able to hold the symposium following the 8th symposium and had a meaningful discussion.

The 8th Symposium was held in London, UK, in October 2022. Following the 7th, we discussed the theme "Technology and Humanity -Part 4: Humans need to apply ever-enhancing AI, including AI for Digital Health, and Quantum Computing, for the good of Society". Due to Covid-19, there was a three-year blank after the 7th meeting in 2019. During this period, in November 2021, we held the 7.5 online mini-symposium as a trailer for the 8th Symposium and invited all scheduled speakers for the 8th session to give short speeches. The 8th meeting was a real, on-site, face-to-face meeting.
